Handmade Kitchen Knives & Hand Forged Carbon Steel

The Studio at Seppeltsfield

Barry’s amazing new Studio within JamFactory’s latest enterprise at Seppeltsfield Winery is slowly starting to come together as a fantastic working environment.

JamFactory at Seppeltsfield integrates a beautiful Gallery and retail shop along with Studio space for 12 artisans including Baz the knifemaker! This satellite ‘working village’ is housed in the historic 1000 square metres stables space at Seppeltsfield Winery in the beautiful Barossa Valley.

This wonderful old building has recycled and repurposed materials from the Winery to fit-out the interior space… including the re-use of 500kg slate fermentation lids for the floor of this building.  These slate lids were previously used in Seppeltsfield’s Gravity Fed Winery and now make a stunning floor! As you wander along the walkway to view the artisans at work, you’ll be walking on these slate floors.

Baz has this wonderful Studio at the South Eastern end of the Coach House building which is an absolutely perfect space for him – you can see by the photo what a wonderful spot it is for Baz to create, design and craft his beautiful knives – on a balmy day, the big barn doors open, the view of the winery and the familiar palm tree-lined Seppeltsfield Road… what a space!! Baz would say the only thing missing is a nice cold Beer!!

Come for a visit soon – it’s a stunning location here at Seppeltsfield, with a Cellar door, Café, new restaurant opening within 12 months, a Cooper making his barrels (say Hi to Andrew!) or perhaps take a tour around the various buildings with a guide and discover the history behind Benno Seppelt’s vision…

Or just come and see what the JamFactory has to offer… it makes for a wonderful day out and as always, we look forward to seeing you here – the opening hours of JamFactory are 11 – 5pm every day. If you want to see Baz, email to check that he’ll be in…
