Knifemaker Barry Gardner wields his magic at Seppeltsfield Winery

Everyone knows what great food and wine we have in the Barossa, and now we have some of Australia’s most gifted artisans and their products available across the road from Seppeltsfield Vineyard Cottage! One of these artisans is Barossa local Barry Gardener, whose mission is to create quality handmade and hand forged kitchen knives that are beautiful to look at and an absolute joy to use.

“Barry, or Baz as he prefers, was waiting for me out the front of his workshop, ready with a blacksmith’s apron and the offer of a cuppa. As Baz did the honours I wandered around the workshop, taking in the many belt sanders, the two forges, hydraulic press, and the blacksmith’s hammers, which I later gleefully used to belt a glowing crowbar into a flatter form.”
